Granite Pluton at the Panasqueira Tungsten Deposit, Portugal: Genetic Implications as Revealed from New Geochemical Data

چکیده

Core samples recovered from exploration boreholes and granite/greisen outcrops at the Panasqueira world-class tungsten deposit in central Portugal were subjected to chemical analyses petrographic studies. We present a geochemical dataset trace element compositions of quartz micas large part unexposed granitic pluton. Our data suggest that hidden granite body is more complicated than previously believed. It consists flat cupola porphyritic with only traces mineralization Rio steep stock greisenized leucogranite surrounded by swarm quartz–muscovite veins rich wolframite between Barroca Grande Panasqueira. The contents W (Sn, Nb, Ta) muscovite markedly drop transition unmineralized greisen veins. was formed three principal stages: (1) intrusion two-mica accompanied local near-contact greisenization uncommon quartz–wolframite veinlets; (2) strongly fractionated formation apophyses; (3) circulation hydrothermal fluids deeper parts into cupola, greisenization, hydraulic fracturing opening structures outside ore

Genesis of the Tang Zagh iron deposit by using mineralogical and geochemical data, Hormozgan province

The Tang Zagh iron deposit is located about 117 km Northeast of Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province in the structural folded-thrusted zone of the Zagros basin. Iron mineralization occurs in the form of iron oxides (hematite) within the salt dome and/or in fractures and between the layers of the younger strata with the Tertiary age. Based on the microscopic studies, dolomitic fragments of the host ...

ORIGIN OF CHOGHART IRON OXIDE DEPOSIT, BAFQ MINING DISTRICT, CENTRAL IRAN: NEW ISOTOPIC AND GEOCHEMICAL EVIDENCE

The origin of the Proterozoic Choghart iron oxide deposit in the Bafq mining district of Central Iran has been the subject of a long-standing dispute. Some authors believe that it was formed from magma, while others suggest metasomatic replacement of preexisting rocks. The present study on the basis of new oxygen isotope, REE and geochemical data concludes that neither of these two hypotheses c...
